Allied congratulates Marc Larose, who celebrated his 35th anniversary this summer! Marc started his career here as a Multilith Press Operator, then moved into our bindery as a Cutter Operator in 1983. From there, he moved on to train as both a Folder and Stitcher Operator. When we opened our Mailing department, Marc stepped up to learn the inkjet equipment - new to everyone - and has "owned" the lead Mailroom Inkjet Operator position ever since, contributing to the department's success with his eye for detail and quality-conscious work ethic. Marc's supervisor, who has known him for 32 years, describes him as a well-informed machine operator, dependable and a genuine pleasure to work with. He is known as a coworker who's always willing to help out. Let's all give Marc a well-deserved round of applause! ... See MoreSee Less

Sweet success! Months ago, John Sommers committed to running in the Chicago Marathon on behalf of The Mercy Home for Boys & Girls and began a summer of training with running partner, Emily Strobelberger. His longest run at that point was four miles. Fast forward to last weekend - the 26.2 mile race was held in the rain on Sunday, October 7th. John met his goal of finishing his first full marathon in under four hours! He also surpassed his charitable goal of $1,500 by raising $4,362 for the Chicago-based charity dedicated to providing a home and lifesaving care for children in need.

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is proud to have welcomed more than a half million runners across its finish line since the event’s founding in 1977. Check out John's marathon route through 29 neighborhoods.
