Congratulations to Richard Roess, who has retired and is headed to new adventures in the Pacific Northwest! We can certainly describe Richard as intellectually curious. A chemist by degree, professional astrologer, and a talented artist, Richard decided to teach himself Illustrator for the fun of it. After designing work for local businesses, he was hired as Assistant Supervisor and Lead Mac Operator of our Prepress department when we first opened a third shift. That was 28 years ago!
Richard offered plenty of praise for his fellow co-workers, describing the group as a talented team who focuses on solving problems and providing solutions night after night. He truly enjoyed our challenging projects and worked with the best of technology here at Allied. The technological odyssey was a fascinating one for him over nearly three decades!
At his farewell gathering, Richard was described as a steady and totally dependable employee, one that always “got it”. First shift Prepress could count on him to find a way to get the job done, no matter how complex. He’s pictured here with John Sommers and Jon Kaufman.
